The Waves of Bonaire

Hurricane Tomas passed Bonaire 150 miles to the north 2 days prior to these breathtaking waves. It was a slow moving storm that affected Bonaire's weather and surf for a few days. We were fortunate to witness these Goliath waves. To put them in perspective, the cliffs are 20 feet high from the top to the water. The surge of breaking surf threw most of these waves another 20-30 feet above the cliff tops. It was a exhilarating to the sense of sight, sound and smell and occasionally if you were too close, taste and touch.
