A Few Snippetts

Sorry this is so blurry, but I had to act fast and take a pic through the screen before Jacob was asked to stop sweeping the dirt driveway with Gramma and Gramps new broom. Remember how helpful Jacob was sweeping our driveway with the new car washing brush?

Teach a Boy to be a Fisher.......

Aunt Rebecca and her boyfriend Dave took the boys to do some rainbow trout fishing at Johnson Lake where it had just been stocked. Andrew was soooo proud of his catch. They each had caught about 10 6" trout as seen here all together in a ziploc. Everything can go in a Ziploc. Mark and Wendy were having dinner at our house when the boys got done fishing. So Rebecca brought them here. To my slight discomfort, the boys immediately wanted to clean and cook their catch. It's not that I'm squeamish about dead stuff, blood, guts and all that, it's just that my house is still so brand new... and fish scales and bloodguts.... just don't go with my de'cor.
So at 10 pm, we set the card table out in the front yard, where Wendy and Rebecca proceeded to teach and instruct 2 very Alaskan boys how to cut, gut and clean their fish. Wendy is using a native ULU knife....

...While Rebecca handles a filet knife. And yes, it is this light out at 10 pm Alaska SummerTime. (we still had 2 1/2 hours of daylight to burn....) Wendy showing Andrew how to squish the guts and poop out of the hole where it's head used to be.

Wendy was carefully de-boning teeny tiny fishys.
(We had started dinner of sausage before Rebecca got back w/ the boys. It wasn't intended to be a backup plan. We didn't know the boys wanted to clean and cook their catch right away.)

MMMM! fresh lake rainbow trout, grilled with butter.

The boys liked eating the fishes of their labors! It was pretty good eating and very generous of them to share it with us.

Captain Jacob

Jacob gave a tour of his sailing vessel, yet unnamed ,while it was in drydock for some repairs.
The "stateroom" has a nice "clubhouse getaway" feel to it.

There was contemplation on Jacob's part on what the next repair would be on his boat. Uncle Jerry helped take out a board that had rusty nails exposed-after a wrong step kinda knocked it loose from the stern.

Fret Not My Blog Followers

It's been exactly 3 weeks since my last posting. It's not that I don't have any pics to post- on the contrary! I have lots of good ones. The problem is that I have lots and lots and lots of photo folders on my 'puter, and no more space to download more. Yes - I am out of gig space on my notebook. Needless to say, storage solutions are being researched and contemplated and very soon will be rectified and then my blog will be back in business. Don't forget about me in the meantime okay?

Welcome Little Ones!

I caught my first baby moose sightings of 2008 in our neighborhood. Hopefully they'll wander down to our yard soon.

Loving Siblings

This series of pics was kinda funny but kinda worrisome. The twins wandered over to sidewalk and looked like they were contemplating the street. "What is this? Should we step on it? What's over there? Do you think we'll ever go over there? Should we go now?" Finally they must've decided to wait for mom to take them later. They went back to her. She was making me mad for not paying attention to how close they were to the street. No warning or scolding. She just kept eating away....She needs parenting classes.
