What are the Odds?

I took the picture on the left and at the same exact moment Jerry took the pic on the right. In the top left corner of his you can see the flash burst from my camera. Pretty cool huh?
Oh and by the way we were watching Anna with a little popup spring toy. You push the spring all the way down and then wait for it to release and pop up. Great entertainment. A gentler type of Jack-in-the-Box.
I still find it cool that the cameras clicked at the same precise moment.

My Super Sweet Surprise Birthday Party!

So Jerry and I had planned w/ Wendy to come down on Sunday to see them and the new baby goats before we left for the slope again on Tuesday. Little did we know, the family decided what a perfect time to get together for a surprise birthday party, since I would be on the slope on the actual day of my birthday. Never in all my years do I remember being as surprised as I was when I saw my family standing in Wendy's basement and heard them yell "SURPRISE!!" I indeed was surprised. The cars were all hidden, coats and boots all out of sight... nothing amiss for me to suspect anything. Even the cover story to get me to the basement seemed legitimate. Actually 2 stories: 1)The basement was the neatest and cleanest it had EVER been(see it now because it probably would never be that way again.) 2) The kids were excited to see us, but probably didn't hear us come in since they were intently playing a Mii (a poor version of Wii). Good job! Well done! Thank you Rebecca for making cake and cupcakes w/ purple frosting. It was beautiful and delicious!

Scenes from a Surprise Party

My Dad I guess wanted to look like a serial killer. Thanks Kimberly for pointing out a smile.

And Kimberly and Wendy forcing one-literally.
No problem with smiles here.

EEEEK!!! 41 is Flammable!!

Thanks Jerry, for being on hand to witness the group effort and many hands it took to light 41 candles before the first one burned down to the frosting. Love ya babe!

Unexpected Presents

My family finds it odd that I brought home fabric from Kauai. There was this great little bargain fabric store with 95% Hawaiian print fabric. I do not sew, which made it even odder. My intention was to hire out people who DO sew and I'd commission them to sew what was on my mind. Mom started a great set of pillows for my couches and I found just 3 squares of pink hibiscus print thinking that was enough to make a dress for Anna.(Remember I don't sew right?) Mom found some matching pink polka dot fabric at our local JoAnn fabric and as a gift to me, she made an adorable dress for Anna--IN 2 DAYS!! I had no idea a party was planned for me but she wanted to do this for me. Needless to say, it came out awesome and Anna likes it since she changed her favorite color from purple ( Aunt T is not really happy about this) to pink.

And of course thank you to Wendy and Mark and the kids for very unique blend socks and hosting a super sweet- very surprising- birthday party. It is a day I will never forget!
