March 28th 1340p 25,000ft

Finally on Saturday, the clouds cleared up and left open sky above Redoubt for us to see from the house when it went off again. It didn't turn into a perfect mushroom, but it was close.

Me and My Big Mouth

So apparently, Mt Redoubt was just taking a break. I jinxed it and it let loose the very next morning with an even BIGGER plume than before. And Ash was headed this way! Again by God's grace, the ash diverted before it fell upon us. YAY!

A PenAir pilot, Robert Cole got some awesome photos today. Posted

Also posted is pictures from a satellite over Asia that captured the 65,000 ft plume from it's orbit and a pic
showing the ash plume cycling into the airstream. Both from Jonathan Dehn at the National Weather Service (satellite). All very cool and wish I could take credit for all.

AntiClimatic As It Is...

3 days and 7 eruptions later, Mt Redoubt has already been downgraded to ORANGE. Boring! By God's grace though, the wind completely kept the ash away-yay! - no visual STILL on anything to do with the volcano. Cloudy for all 3 days and now it's snowing....... Can't catch a photog break.

IT BLEW!

Of Course it blew at like 11 pm so I can't see it or photograph it. I have a great view from my front door and it's wasted:(

This is my first volcanic eruption at close quarters (60miles apprx). I'll keep you posted of any major developments.

FINALLY???

Mt Redoubt had recently been downgraded to code Yellow. Then today starts showing off heavy steam and a little ash. I'm really not happy about this now. With Jerry due back in 2 days, if she blows between now and Tuesday, all flights will be grounded. Nothing taking off and nothing allowed to land. Please pray she holds off for a bit longer.
